I HAS IPAD!

The hubby got me an iPad for Xmas! Now I can doodle on the sofa like the lazy lump I am! I did these in sketchbook pro with my dad's bamboo stylus. Anyone have any suggestions for other drawing apps I should check out? Is there a nifty stylus I should get? I can't wait to get sketching!

Good lord it's been a long time since I drew anything for myself..I'm afraid I'm rusting! Heres some Comic-related doodles....I think I might have found a design for Tansy's gryff pal that I like..I also think I'm gonna name her Diana..and in that spirit, here Tansy and Diana take part in some "field research" though Diana might live up to her name sake more then Tansy might like...

Sooooo…I had a rather fabulous dream involving The Hunger Games, and it made me really really want to draw fanart. I’ve attempted it before but I never was able to get folks looking quite how I wanted them..said dream seemed to help with that..

Also have some Rue! I’ve been dying to draw her because I’ve had this really really specific image of her in my mind since I read the books, but I can never get it quite right…this is close though.. OMG WHY ARE THERE ONLY 3 BOOKS!? WANT MORE!

The eyes have it

The latest eye-drop I've been put on (we're up to 6 now) has side effects that include:

- stinging, burning, itching, watering, or swelling of the eye

- redness of the eyelids

- permanent increase of brown pigmentation in your iris

and

- may also cause your eyelashes to grow longer and thicker and darken in color.

So basically I may end up with ONE HUGE ANIME EYE.

I was stuck for a name for her until I discovered the AMAZING Mary Henrietta Kingsly in my research...this woman is my new hero!I think I shall christen auntie as Henrietta Buttersworth in her honor.

Geisha Geisha!

I recently got a copy of Liza Dalby's "Geisha" for supa dupa cheap and I have been LOVING it. It's just fascinating and so informative, but not in a boring text book kind of way ;) That and the fact that Matthew has rediscovered his love of Urushi and is studying to attempt some pieces of his own, has made me realize I really REALLY need to go to Japan. It would be the BEST. TRIP. EVER.

Hoodwinked

THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS TO ME!! Do I have an oddly shaped head or something? I cannot seem to find a coat where the hood doesn't fall over my face and blind me, making an already miserable day even miserable-er.... The supreme Irony is that for regular hats, my head is apparently OBSCENELY LARGE, because I have the hardest time finding ones I fit into.
