PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE GLUE TRAPS. I know they're more effective but it's as bad as poison. Mice will chew off limbs, dislocate bones and dehydrate to death on glue traps. If the cardboard tube over the bucket doesn't work, try Mice Cubes: http://carlbrannen.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/mousecube.jpg and if you must do a kill trap, the spring loadeds are best.
Steph - No worries, I'm not a fan of glue traps either, I just can't bear the thought of them! :( At the moment we have both snap traps and humane ones out. I just want them gone before they harm Peepers. The link you posted doesnt seem to work for me! Would you mind reposting?
Ryan - I think I have super mice..the cage is on a stand that is at least 2ft tall, which means they're climbing directly up the rounded metal legs! I can't help but be impressed... Heehee and thank you! though he actually named himself, I used to sing "Peeper peeper peeper!" to him and one day he sang it back to me...thus Mr. Peepers was born!

How do the mice get in the cage? Is it on the floor?
